My interview with Ricardo Hausmann, Harvard University in Davos 2016
Every year in Davos I catch up with Ricardo Hausmann, Director of the Center for International Development about the economic and political situation in Venezuela. In the recent election Venezuelans voted for change, but there the government is comprised of opposing parties and there is a constitutional and governance crisis at the time when the macro-economic situation could not be more serious. The debt service bill is impossible to pay and combined with the drop in the oil price, GDP has fallen 10% and imports continue to collapse.
