Edie offers executive communication coaching that brings together media training, storytelling, and body language and voice coaching. She helps leaders sharpen their messaging, prepare for public speaking, and communicate with clarity, personality, authenticity and confidence.

Leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, change-makers and executives preparing for media appearances, TED talks, high-stakes presentations, stage appearances, panel discussions, speeches, town halls and difficult meetings. It is also valuable for anyone who wants to improve overall communication effectiveness in high-pressure or high-visibility settings.

The foundation is developing authentic executive presence, that combination of confidence, clarity and credibility that makes people lean in and want to listen. Edie works with leaders on three core areas: message clarity (knowing key points and articulating them simply), emotional intelligence (reading the room and adapting communication style) and storytelling (making complex ideas relatable through narrative). For media specifically, leaders need to master bridging, connecting any question back to core messages without sounding evasive. Edie also encourages leaders to go beyond basic media technique by sharing examples, personal opinions and humanity, so they are not perceived as media-trained automatons. Crisis communication skills are another pillar, helping leaders handle difficult questions with poise. Her coaching integrates media training with presentation skills because modern leaders must excel in both controlled presentations and unpredictable interview situations.

Executive presence is not just about looking the part. It is about commanding attention through authentic authority. Edie helps leaders develop a communication style that feels natural while strengthening areas that undermine their impact. This includes vocal presence, body language that supports rather than distracts from the message and developing the confidence to pause, breathe and think before responding. She also works with people to manage and reduce nerves, both masking unhelpful nervous habits and addressing their root causes. Storytelling turns abstract concepts into memorable, actionable insights. Edie supports leaders in developing narratives that connect emotionally, support business goals and inspire their audience. Together, you develop personal anecdotes, examples, analogies, metaphors and clear points of view to make speeches and presentations more engaging. The result is leaders who do not just convey information, they inspire action and build lasting connection.

All of these improve communication, but they focus on different contexts and pressures. Presentation coaching prepares you for face-to-face situations such as delivering keynotes, leading meetings, navigating difficult board conversations, handling unexpected questions during presentations or asserting your voice in challenging discussions. It is about being effective whether you are presenting to allies or sceptics, in formal settings or informal exchanges. Media training focuses on the dynamics of working with journalists and broadcast or podcast platforms. In media interviews you speak to an invisible audience through an intermediary who controls the final edit. Media training teaches you to think in quotable sound bites, bridge back to your key messages regardless of the question and maintain composure when facing hostile or gotcha-style questioning. The key difference is audience and control. Presentation skills help you communicate with people in the room, while media training prepares you to communicate through a filter to people you will never meet. Edie brings both approaches together so leaders can perform at their best whether they are in front of a live audience, a camera or a microphone.

A TED-style talk is your life’s work condensed into minutes, so every moment has to earn its place. Edie helps speakers identify their one idea worth sharing, the single insight audiences should remember long after the talk is over. From there you work together to structure the talk around supporting stories, examples and a small number of powerful facts. Particular attention goes to the opening 90 seconds and the closing 90 seconds, as these shape audience expectations and leave the strongest impression, just as the beginning and end of a piece of music stay in your mind. Preparation should begin months, not weeks, in advance. You rehearse until the delivery feels natural and conversational rather than memorised. Edie also works with speakers on managing nerves, connecting emotionally with the audience and using storytelling to make complex ideas accessible. The goal is a talk that feels authentic and moves people to think differently or take action.
